Adenike Grange
Adenike Grange is a paediatrician, professor, consultant, author and former
Nigerian Minister in charge of the
Federal Ministry of Health. Appointed on 25 July 2007, she was the first female Minister of Health in Nigeria. During her time in office, she was dedicated to improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria, reducing maternity deaths and reducing diseases among vulnerable groups. She was arrested by the order of President
Umaru Musa Yar'Adua for handling 300 million naira of unspent funds. She was investigated by the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and stood trial. She resigned from office on 26 March 2008.
