He is a Professor of Psychiatry, Neurology and Genetics and Washington University School of Medicine. He is founding director of the Neurogenomics and Informatic (NGI) center at Washington University School of Medicine. His lab uses deep molecular profiling of human samples relevant to brain and neurodegenerative diseases. He is best known for using endophenotypes and biomarkers as quantitative traits for genetics studies, which led to the identification of novel variants associated with Alzheimer's Disease risk, onset and progression.
