Gregory Odegard
Gregory M. Odegard is a materials researcher and academic. He is the John O. Hallquist Endowed Chair in Computational Mechanics in the Department of Mechanical Engineering – Engineering Mechanics at Michigan Technological University and the director of the NASA Institute for Ultra-Strong Composites by Computational Design.Odegard's work is focused on computational modeling of advanced composite systems, with his research interests spanning multiscale modeling, computational chemistry, materials science, and mechanics of materials. He is the recipient of 2008 Ferdinand P. Beer and E. Russell Johnston Jr. Outstanding New Mechanics Educator Award, 2011 Ralph R. Teetor Educational Award, 2021 Michigan Tech Distinguished Researcher Award, and 2023 NASA Outstanding Public Leadership Medal.
Odegard is a Fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and an Associate Fellow of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Provided by Wikipedia
