immunity
to the human
mycobacteria
l diseases,
leprosy
and
tuberculosis
. She has spent most of her career at the
London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
, where as of 2020 she is a professor of immunology. She was the first female president of the
Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene
.
Jimmy Whitworth

describes her as "a marvellous ambassador for global health and research."
