In 2008, he released ''Soul in Love,'' a cover album that became one of his best-selling works.

In early 2010, Jay R released ''Jay R Sings OPM Love Classics'', an album featuring revivals of Original Pilipino Music love songs. He later recorded and intended to release a song in Indonesian. He appeared as a performer on the GMA network's musical variety show ''Party Pilipinas'' and served as the host of the Philippine adaptation of the dating game show ''Take Me Out''.
