Jelena Dimitrijević
Jelena Dimitrijević (27 March 1862 – 10 April 1945) was a
Serbian short story writer,
novelist,
poet,
traveller,
social worker,
feminist, and a
polyglot. She is considered to be the first woman in modern Serbian history to publish a work of travel related prose in 1894. During the years 1926 to 1927 she traveled around the world, including the
Far East,
East Asia, and
India, where she was the guest of
Rabindranath Tagore.
