Mar Gómez

María del Mar Gómez Hernández (born in 1985) is a Spanish physicist, science communicator and popular science author. She obtained her PhD ''cum laude'' at the Complutense University of Madrid. She is an specialist in the fields of meteorology and renewable energies. She is a frequent contributor to ''National Geographic''. In her work, she often talks about the climate change in the Arctic and its consequences (including sea level rise).

At an international level, she has been a speaker at TEDx talks and climate change awareness events. She is also known for being a popular science communicator on social media.
