Minister of Economy and Finance
from 2006 to 2008. He previously served as a member of the
Executive Board of the European Central Bank
from 1998 to 2005. Padoa-Schioppa is considered as a founding father of the
European single currency
. He was a former member of the Steering Committee of the
Bilderberg Group
.
