Summary: | The paper aims at describing the legal aspects and the procedure of processing the application for partitioning of Land as provided by the National Land Code, act 56, 1965. However the main task of this paper is to introduce and discuss how the concept of double meridian distance can be employed in the Computational of Land partitioning problems. At present, the land partitioning problems usually solved by the trial-and-error methods in which an initial outoff line is assumed and then it's final position obtained after a lengthy calculation. Thus, with this mind, the paper intends to arrive at a method to obtain direct solutions of these problems by using the double meridian distance concept. The concept of double meridian distance, which is used to compute areas of closed figures from the latitudes and departures of the boundary lines, will be used to derive formulae to obtain direct solutions. Lastly, a program, based on the double meridian distance method, will be written for the land partitioning for the following cases :- (i) bearing of partitioning line is known. (ii) partitioning line to pass through a known point.
