Description
Summary:Few other bilateral relationships have benefited as much from education over such a long period as the Australia-Malaysia relationship. Since 1951, more than 4,000 Malaysians have studied in Australian universities and other institutes of higher education under Australian Government scholarships. This number is in addition to the more than 250,000 private students from Malaysia who have completed their tertiary education in Australia. These scholars have made a huge impact not just on Malaysia, but also on their host country, Australia. They have contributed significantly to better understanding between the two nations. They have formed friendships that transcend geographical and cultural boundaries and promoted greater trade, tourism and intellectual exchange between Australia and Malaysia.
