Description
Summary:As machine rotating, the rolling element bearing generates vibration, the analysis of which renders valuable information about the condition of rolling element bearing. With the sophisticated Fast Fourier Transform Analyzer, it is now possible to detect a fault in ball bearing in most common machine several months before repair becomes imperative. The types of analysis used in this project are the vibration Spectrum Analysis and Envelope Analysia. The principle of monitoring and analysis are discussed in Chapter Four. There are some of the common faults occur in ball bearing which are discussed in Chapter two. Few of the fault conditions had been purposely imposed on the ball bearings for analysis on a test rig. Chapter three discussed on the fundamental and sources of vibration. Instrumentations setup and experiment techniques are described in Chapter Five. This include the function of each equipment used in the experiment. Lastly, in Chapter six, a case study on fault rolling element bearings comparing with an unfault bearing are reported.
