description High rise office building in Golden Triangle area of Kuala Lumpur is growing rapidly due to the good demand of office space in this era. Each building tries to be different in appearance to the next. On the first glance, the appearance was nothing new, but the tower of glass of almost mirror. This circumstance gives the Kuala Lumpur towers indifferent identity with other cities. This phenomena which is created by the visual regularity and repetition in their orders is rather unrelated to human scale and the desires for individual and group identities. One could ask: is it the way to design a high rise building where we can moderating their interiors by layering, transitional space, verandahs and plantings. These devices would give the answer for people to communicate more effectively with the city vice versa. Furthermore it can create a lively informal activity within the building and a more welcoming face to passers-by. The concept of giving the ground level to the city has been used as a design theme for the proposed Headquarters of Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia. It provides a city oasis for the public at the foot of the building and yet providing and efficient and economical office space for tenants. THE CLIENT: The Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia. (Dewan Perniagaan dan Perusahaan Melayu Malaysia). SPACES REQUIREMENT: i) Bank; ii) Cafeteria; iii) Surau; iv) Office for Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia; v) Rentable office space; vi) Mini Auditorium; vii) Recreational : Squash Court, Gymnasium etc; viii) Basement Car Parking.
