总结: | In order to be competitive, it is now realized that there is a need for better planning of production.A siftware of process planning for rotational part had been developed in this project. It covered major aspects of process planning such as determination of operation sequence, required tools and machining parameters such as feed and speed.The developed system is based on the data and knowledge available in the machine shop of Faculty of Mechanical, UTM, Handbooks and machining manuals.The system runs on an IBM PC or compatible computers.The system used Turbo C, Microsoft C and KES (Knowledge-based EngineeringSystem) as the development tools. Turbo C language is used as an user interface and KES is used as a knowledge representative. The output from the system is a printed process plan sheet which contains the information of the recommended stock materials size, types of operations and their sequences, mahinmachine, cutting tools and recommended cutting parameters such as feed andspeed.
