| Summary: | The importance of quality has increased in recent times. quality has became one of the most important factors for manufacturing organizations to increase their competitive edge. It is important for Small and Medium Sized Industries' (SMIs') products to meet high quality standards. This is due to SMIs account nearly 75% of the total number of firms in the manufacturing sector in the country. This thesis is concerned with the preparation of aplan for Ttoal Quality Control (TQC) implementation in SMIs. For the initial stage, some literature study on TQC has been carried out to identify the principles and practices of TQC approach. A survey on SMIs' quality system were conducated in Johor in order to identify the problems and issues in implementation of TQC. Then a case study on existing quality system was carried out at Ronnie Electronics (M) Sdn Bhd. to identify the areas for quality improvement mainly in production area and other areas generally. Finally a TQC implementationplan can be customized to suit the different situation and needs of other organization. |
