Summary: | The purpose of this project is to observe the movement of free metallic particle in compressed gas insulated apparatus and to design an effective particle trap based on the knowledge of the particle movement pattern. A coaxial electrode system with non-uniform field strength was used in the experimental works because from the early research, it was found that the particle movement is highly dependent on the field strength of the electrode surface. The coaxial electrode model was experimented using particle of different parameter (length, diameter, density, material and shape) to observe the effect of the parameter to the particle movement from the result we can conclude the relation between particle parameter and its movement in compressed gas insulated system.
