The purposeof this thesis project is to build four nodes or processing elements and interconnect them to form a prototype hypercube parallel computer system. The processing element is a MC68010 based system which can handle serial and parallel communication. Four of these nodes were built and connected to each other in the direct connect communication method. A test software program was also written to test the nodes and the communication system of the hypercube system. This project is a foundation stone to develop a powerful hypercube parallel computer system. |
