description The performance of an aircraft is critically dependent on its aerodynamics. So that, in the feasilibility and initial project stages of the design, it is more than ever important toacquire a reliable and easy-to-use methods foraerodynamic predication. As we look forward to the most promising technical development in aviation, shich is now call upon the aerodynamist to have available more fundamental knowledge than ever before. This is thus the objective of this thesis to produce a computer program that can predict drag of flow subsi=onic aircaraft. Aerodynamics is a subject of intelluctual beauty, composed and drwan by many great minds over the centuries. In this thesis, concise collection of formulas, data dn methods are taken form the Engineering Science Data Unit (ESDU) and DATCOM, which contains a wide and ever increasing range of data and methods applicable for the prediction of drag of low subsi=onic aircraft. To verify the accuracy of the methods and the efficiency of the program, a test case on a Caribou aircraft has been carried out. The result shows the achievement in reaching the basic goals of this thesis.
