description Fiber optic communication system has gained popularity nowadays due to its advantages compared to be conventional communication system. Its demand for transmission medium increases rapidly over the decade as the sustems gain worldwide acceptance. Consequently, an array of computer aided design or analysis tool is needed. This project is aimed to develop a software package that can be used as a designing tool for the lightwave communication system. Its main objective is to help the users or designers in handling the lengthly and tedious designing and analysing process. All the important input parameters for this software will be discuss in detail such as light source part, receiver part and optical fiber part. Besides, all the calculation, recommendation of the system designed and graph plotting will be discussed in detail. Finally, an application example used to test and evaluate the software overall performance was also discussed.
