Summary: | Waterjet cutting has open new economical and technoligical possibilities in the manufacturing industry. The enormous energy of the waterjet lends itself exceptionally well to the machining of all kinds of materials. Waterjet cutting are being promoted for its capabilities to achieve an excellent cuttting edge quality and ability to cut harad materials. This study is mainly concerned on the basic features of waterjet as a cutting tool. The basic ideas behind waterjet, how it work, and the characteristics that are most importantfrom a user's standpoint are described. The cutting parameters, basic components, operating costs and industrial applications such as applicable materials and operating pressure range are discussed. Furthermore, some experiments are carried out to study the relationship of cutting parameters. Also, waterjet cutting application in local manufacturing industries are studied.
