Summary: | A dynamic positioning ship (DPS) which is operating in the open ocean, river, channel and coastal needs supporting accessories like anchors, thrusters and mooring system to keep herself in steady position. This project focus on determining the effective rudder angle applicable for DPS. The new rudder design which is proposed for a dynamic positioning ship looks into the possibility of the rudder angle operation. The steering system which is couple to the rudder system will ensure the maximum operation achievable of the rudder fitted to this system. The result to this project is limited by external factors like wave, wind and current. This proejct purposes some preliminary result as regards to rudder maximum turning angle for a dynamic positioning ship. |
