| Izvleček: | As a young university, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia has undergone a process of transformation from a modest beginning to a university mature in all aspects. A test of maturity of a university is its involvement in research and development because R & D activities are directly linked to new knowledge areas and broaden the knowledge base. In its early years, UTM could afford only to concentrate on teaching and learning but now it has successfully produced some research results and intellectual properties that could contribute to the generation of income and wealth for the nation. The majority of the intellectual properties generated are in the process of commercialisation and some have been proven successful. The most valuable contribution from these research is the benefit enjoyed by the students who imbibe new knowledge directly from the research experience of their own professors. It is fitting that this book is dedicated to all the researchers and academics of the University who have enriched the knowledge resource through their research. |
