| Summary: | This book presents almost all the important aspects about the development of trade unions in Malaysia from the past to the presenti It is a work written by academics and also trade union activists from several local universities covering the highlights of the history of trade unions from the British era to independence, the main policies of Malaysian development that are related to trade unions, as well as the challenges and position of trade unions. An overview of the position, role, problems, and comparison between public and private sector unions is also explained. In addition, the discussion also is made on the main cases of the issue of trade union recognition, the rights and responsibilities of trade union officials, and the development of school of thoughts in Malaysian trade unions.
