Two main components of injection moulding machine are clamping unit and injection unit.In this thesis project CAD/CAM was used to help in produce the mouldand the platen plate for the clamp unit. By the way, other components of themachine parts was either machined by supplier or by conventional machine inthe production laboratory. Before the process oc machining, process planningfor each component of this machine was carried out to minimize the use ofmaterial and cost and maximize the use of available facilities. In the procees of material selection for the components of bench-type injection mouldingmachine developed, there were several methods available and weighted property method was selected due to better utilization of functional requirements.For the purpose of simulation, C-MOLD was used to ensure the working condition of component selected lied within the capactity of this machine.From this thesis project, the bench-type injection moulding machine designedwas suitable only for small plastic components and batch type production. |
