As a whole, the project will be aided by the use of AutoCad release 11 and SmartCam software. AutoCAD will be used as a drafting tool, whereas, SmartCam will be used to simulate and verify the tool path as well as to generate the part programming for CNC machining operation. In this project, a systematic approach in designing an injection mould for the production of turning knob will be carried out. This is followed b y a study of the proper mould part manufacturing processes such as milling,turning, electrode die sinking, wire cut and etc. Besides, the actual cutting process will also be verified on the shop floor by using a substitute soft material (e.g. styrofoam).5420PRZSLInjection molding of plastics |
