description This thesis presents an investigation of the rain induced attenuation at15GHz on terrestrial line-of sight link. The measurements were conductedby using an experimental link with path length of about 440 meters at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Kuala Lumpur. The aim is to carry outpropagation studies concerning the effects of meterrological phenomena,in particularly, precipitation on the transmission path. The transmission ismonitored automatically with a personel computer and simultaneously with a set of meteorological instruments; rain-gauge and distrometer. Measurements data of the rain-induced attenuation on the LOS Link will be compared with CCIR model for tropical regions and predicted model developed at UTM.The propagation results will be used to validate the prediction of the spceific attenuation obtained from CCIR and the prediction model developedat UTM.
