description Biogas produced from anaerobic digestion process has major amount of methane and carbon dioxide, and traces amount of impurities such as hydrogen sulphide, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and ammonia. Prior to biogas applications, it has to undergo biogas cleaning first to remove the impurities depending on the requirement of the applications. Pressurized water scrubbing is the most applicable method for removing carbon dioxide because of its simplicity, low cost and toxicity. Experimental work to investigate the optimum process condition will be costly and time consuming. Therefore, this study aims to develop pressurized water scrubbing process model for biogas purification using Aspen Plus software. Several process parameters such as column pressure and temperature and the amount of fresh water were varied to investigate their effects on biomethane purity and percentage of CO2 removal. The simulated results showed good agreement with previous work and agreed well with typical concentration of methane according to standard is over 95% to be used as vehicle fuels or in gas grid.
