Summary: | The genre form of the crown of sonnets is a supertextual level phenomenon, the unity of which is provided by various kinds of cross-textual connections. In particular, we examine the cross-textual coherence a) between the master-sonnet and 14 texts of the main corpus (the ring of sonnets) and b) between the poetic texts of the main corpus. A special attention is given to the cross-textual repetition as the most characteristic form of connections within the supertextual unit. Two functional types of cross-textual connections in the corona structure, the obligatory and the complementary one, are revealed. The first type provides the cohesion of each of the fourteen texts with the master sonnet, and besides, the circular organization of the main corpus; the second one determines the coherence degree between the texts of the main corpus |
