Summary:Marriage is a legal act of great legal importance due to the numerous and relevant effects it produces. Marriage is subject to a rigorous legal form. Sometimes, there is also the obligation or duty to register the wedlock in a Civil Registry. This work deals with the requirements of access of a marriage to the Spanish Civil Registry in cases with foreign elements. The method, followed by the Spanish legislator to evaluate the validity of marriages celebrated before foreign authorities, is also examined.
