Summary:The COVID-19 pandemic has exerted huge impact on medical education. Having experienced the outbreak of the pandemic, we are more aware of the importance of well-trained internal residents with medical professionalism. Therefore, it is necessary to keep the tradition of resident training in the Department of Medicine, Peking Union Medical College Hospital. At the same time, as the pandemic shows it could be a trend of normalization, we need to pay more attention to the mental health of residents and enhance the professionalism training of residents in response to the change of teaching environment, so as to improve the competence of residents in the post-pandemic period.
