description | Abstract In accordance with Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 396/2005, the United Kingdom, hereafter referred to as the evaluating Member State (EMS), received an application from the company DuPont (UK) Ltd. to modify the existing MRLs for the active substance chlorantraniliprole in cauliflowers and other flowering brassica and to set import tolerances in pomegranates, beans (with pods), peas (with pods), globe artichokes, peanuts and hops. This application was notified to the European Commission and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and was subsequently evaluated by the EMS in accordance with Article 8 of the Regulation. EFSA concludes that the submitted supervised residue trials are sufficient to derive MRL proposals for all crops under consideration, except for peanuts and hops. Based on the risk assessment results, EFSA concludes that the authorised uses in the USA on pomegranates, beans, peas and globe artichokes and the intended southern Europe uses on flowering brassica will not result in a consumer exposure exceeding the toxicological reference value and therefore is unlikely to pose a health risk to consumers. |
