Thermotropic properties were investigated by a combination of POM observation, DSC analysis and X-ray diffraction experiments. All members of the series exhibit enantiotropic smectic-A (SmA) mesophase. DFT calculations imply stable electronic structure of the ligand; HLn (n = 12) as well as of its copper(II) complex. |
