| description | Purpose. In this article, means of creating expressive syntax are considered, which determine the syntactic specificity of German poetry. The relevance of the research is due to the fact that the poetic texts of the epoch of romanticism have always been of great interest to linguists, since the syntax of language, namely the syntactic expressive means, enable poets to reveal their creative potential as much as possible.
Methods or methodology of the work. The basis of the research is formed by the continuous sampling method in the selection of practical material as well as the method of descriptive linguo-stylistic analysis.
Results. The analysis shows that romantic poets have been greatly interested in the variability of the syntactic structures of poetic texts. The emergence of syntactic expressiveness is realized through the use of various techniques. Thus, the basis of expressive syntax in texts of German poetry comprises such stylistic techniques as anaphor, expressive syntactic parallelism, antithesis, chiasm, asyndeton, polysyndeton, which serve as a strong syntactic and stylistic means of highlighting parts of a simple sentence and give a special expressive coloring to the entire poetic text. Inversion is also one of the traditional poetic means of expressive syntax. Stylistic expressiveness is achieved by means of intentional change of the order of syntax, it also serves to attract the reader’s or listener’s special attention. Expressive syntactic means in the poetry of romantics include rhetorical exclamation and rhetorical appeal. The emotional perception of the statement is enhanced by expressing the statement in an exclamatory form. As for the use of rhetorical treatment, it expresses the author’s emotional attitude to different addressees of speech.
Practical implications. The results of the study can be used at courses of language of German poetry, syntactic organization of poetic works, as well as at special courses on the syntax of poetic text. |
