Summary:The article considers the problem of a modern family as a social institution, its importance in shaping the personality of a pre-schooler. Particular influence is given to the question – to what extent a modern woman is ready for the motherhood. The results of the study regard the mother’s set on a child. The article notes the importance of the mother’s figure for the harmonious, comprehensive development of a child. Two forms of super-custody, their effects on a child are highlighted.
