Description
Summary:Electrohydrodynamic printing (EHDP) is an emerging technique for nano/micro fabrication. The printing process is important for both practical application and theoretical study. This work reports the observation of vertically suspending beads-on-a-string structures in the EHDP process. The accumulations of liquid and charges result in a string of suspending secondary droplets laid above a primary droplet. The formation and merging processes of these secondary droplets are investigated. Experimental results reveal that the formation of secondary droplets results from the Coulomb repulsion of charges within the primary droplet.
