description As one of the major languages in the world, Arabic has long been faced with many challenges, but perhaps the phenomenon of globalization and its impact on the language of the Qur’an could be considered as one of the most crucial ones. Although linguists, writers and poets have paid much attention to Arabic in the era of globalization, its challenges have not been considered appropriately as it should have been; as a result, in the contemporary period and especially after the expansion of globalization, Arabic has been affected by the phenomenon and is still fighting the challenges. Beside studying the phenomenon, this article is going to verify the impressions of globalization on Arabic, focusing on concepts such as "linguistic duality" (the standard language and the dialects in the society) and "bilingualism" (the existence of two different languages in a society, for instance the presence of Arabic and expansion of English and French in Arabic countries of Northern Africa).
