New drug of marine origin trabectedin has shown high efficacy in monotherapy and in combination with different cytostatics in the treatment of platinum-sensitive recurrent of ovarian cancer. A randomized trial OVA-301 showed the greatest benefit of a combination of trabectedin with pegylated liposomal doxorubicin in the subgroup of patients with partially platinum-sensitive recurrent of ovarian cancer. Acceptable toxicity profile of the drug, presented mainly neutropenia and transient increase of transaminases, making it promising for further study. |
