Summary:The paper considers the questions of implementation of the personality-oriented educational paradigm within the scope of the reassessment of training results to shape the students’ intercultural competence and critical thinking for developing their self-sufficiency and prompt adaptation in the global information society. The analysis of some innovative educational technologies and approaches concerning methods of teaching critical thinking allows us to come to conclusion that it is just critical directivity of education that implies the striving of creative and constitutive activities of students.
