Summary:This work contributes to the mapping of the moments, the institutions and its courses, the number of students and professionals, the production indicators and their impacts from the perspective of the Creative Industry and Economy, by presenting a survey of undergraduate courses from creative sectors offered by all universities and colleges in Rio Grande do Sul. The methodological procedures are explanatory and descriptive, using a data collection that integrates all data from universities and colleges related to creative industries. The categories established by the Plan of the Secretariat of the Creative Economy of the Ministry of Culture were utilized for the selection of the courses. The concepts of heritage, cultural expressions, performing arts, audiovisual, books, reading and literature and functional creations represented the general categories of the analysis. Two models of geographical division: (a) Meso-regions and Micro-regions and (b) Coredes, were used for the mapping of the courses. The results show, among other things, the existence of 73 courses in the areas of creative industry in a total of 424 courses. In terms of meso-regions, the concentrations of courses related to the heritage category are higher in the Metropolitan region of Porto Alegre and the northeast part of Rio Grande do Sul. The courses related to the field of Cultural Expressions show a lower representation, limited to the metropolitan area of Porto Alegre. The Southeast meso-region presents a significant contribution in Performing arts courses, where the absolute supply of courses in the area is only second to the category of Functional Creations. Most courses in this category are variations of courses and qualifications Letters. Arts Entertainment is an area that stands out after the metropolitan and northwest meso-regions. The Functional Creations courses are the ones with the highest level of offer, with a large concentration in the metropolitan area. The northeast Meso-region also excels in offering courses, due to its high number of industries, as a metal-mechanical pole.
