description In aviation applications, as in many industrial applications, it is generally desired to have a higher surface quality inside the hole. The surface roughness, surface hardness and strength are the features that determine the surface quality of the hole. In this study, the flexible honing and roller burnishing methods applied after the hole drilling to Ti6Al4V alloy, which is also widely used in aviation, were investigated experimentally in terms of specified surface properties. At the end of theexperiments, the reduction in the surface roughness values of the hole for the flexible honing and roller burnishing surface finishing methods are about 15% and 85%, respectively. When the surface hardness values of the holes were examined, the samples with roller burnishing process was reached to 420 HV, which is the highest hardness value obtained in the experiments. In these samples, it was found that the wear resistance also increased due to the hardness increase. It has been concluded that the roller burnishing in the hole surface finishing processes examined can be used in industrial applications requiring these features, as it is more successful in reducing the surface roughness, increasing surface hardness and thus increasing wear resistance compared to flexible honing.
