Description
Summary:Symposium 12: Physical activity in people with diabetes Physical activity in type 1 diabetes mellitus Despite the extraordinary advances since the discovery of insulin almost 100 years ago, the management of type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM1) remains a challenge. Many patients are not ideal body weight, have hypertension and dyslipidemia, and most do not get enough regular exercise. In 415 DM1 of 34 years of average age we found overweight / obesity in 44%, HT in 24% and LDL-C> 100 mg / dL in 44%, and only 39% performed structured physical activity ≥3 times per week.
