description At the beginning of the article, the author claims that many people pray today. This fact is evident in the various sanctuaries of the living world religions. In the following, the author asks about the reason, the purpose and the role of prayer in the life of a believer. People pray because they believe. Just as breathing is a sign and expression of physical human life, so prayer is a sign and expression of faith. Relational theory defines this activity as the ability to recognize the presence of (O)other in his absence. A person must develop and preserve his innate abilities. Prayer is a tool for developing and maintaining faith. Finally, there is the question of what believers pray for. Prayer does not make God a man's servant. The highest level of prayer is accepting God's will, especially when it contradicts our wishes. The purpose of prayer is to maintain a relationship with God and with other believers. To live means to be in a relationship.
