Summary:The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the classroom management skills and performance of the teachers at primary and secondary schools. This is a descriptive research in the survey model. The participants of the study are 303 teachers (125 were classroom teachers and 178 were in various branches) employed in primary and secondary schools located in Kastamonu province. As data collection instruments, “Classroom Management Ability Scale” and “Worker Performance Scale” were used. When the research findings were evaluated, a significant and positive relationship was found between teachers’ classroom management skills and performance at a moderate level. The teachers’ classroom management skills predict their performance in a meaningful way and teachers’ classroom management skills explain 13% of the total variance about their performance. According to the research findings, teachers’ classroom management skills do not differ significantly according to gender while teachers’ classroom management skills differ significantly according to branch, durations of experience, age, durations of experiment at the school that the teachers are working and educational background.
