description Skull base metastasis from renal cell carcinoma are exceedingly rare. Though renal cell carcinoma often presents at an advanced stage and with metastasis, signs and symptoms of skull base involvement would rarely suggest renal cell carcinoma. We described skull base metastasis as the initial presentation of metastatic renal cell carcinoma in a middle aged male. Symptoms of skull base involvement that persist should prompt immediate investigation for rare causes such as renal cell carcinoma.
