Description
Summary:Benoîte Groult’s Les Vaisseaux du cœur (1988) is a challenge both for the author and the translator of this article due to its numerous plays on words and neologisms, which have been analyzed and classified in this paper before proposing an accurate translation. The neologisms that have been found are: structural, semantic, generic, and translational ones, loans, specialized loans, and linguistic variations. This allows us to conclude that the French language the text has been written in is completely new and lawless, owing to the constant mingling of the different cultures that lie beneath.
