An aulacid wasp in the Lowermost Eocene amber from the Paris Basin (Hymenoptera: Aulacidae)

Aulacus eocenicus n. sp. is described from the Lowermost Eocene amber of the Paris basin. It is apparently similar to the Australian modern (sub)-genus Micraulacinus KIEFFER 1910. Description
Summary:Aulacus eocenicus n. sp. is described from the Lowermost Eocene amber of the Paris basin. It is apparently similar to the Australian modern (sub)-genus Micraulacinus KIEFFER 1910. We propose a commented list of the fossil species that have been attributed to the Aulacidae. In particular, the attributions to Aulacidae of the Lower Cretaceous subfamilies Baissinae (incl. 'Manlayinae') and Kotujellinae remain weakly supported. A complete phylogenetic revision of the family is urgently needed.
