| Summary: | Ichthyophthiriasis is one of the most important parasitic diseases of fishes causing heavy mortality by means of seven skin and gill damage. In November 1993, the disease detected in it's early stages in a small Barbus sharpeyi culture-pond containing about 3000 Fingerlings. Due to improper environmental condition in the pound and Presence of many stress factors, the disease rapidly developed and mortality rate reached to about 80%. A variety of drugs and chemicals have been recommended for treatment of Ichthyophthiriasis through various methods, none of which especially addressing treatment of Barbus sharpeyi. In this research project, and after considering various mixture of drugs, a combination of formalin and malachite green was used giving very promising result.
