Summary:Primary effusion lymphoma is a large cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma exclusively presenting with effusions in body cavities in absence of solid tumor masses. It is typically associated with human herpesvirus 8 infection in immunocompromised patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. We report herein a case of primary effusion lymphoma in a HIV-negative patient.
