Description
Summary:This paper seeks to explain the origin and content of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Going Digital project, its structure and main results. In particular, the paper seeks to present how Brazil performs in relation to the discussions raised by the project, based on the recently published study Going Digital in Brazil. To this end, it compares the performance of the country and the OECD member States in terms of access, use, innovation, employment, society, trust and market openness, which constitute the seven pillars of the Going Digital project. The paper points out the progress already made by the country in some areas, such as digital government, but it also draws attention to the challenges that still exist, such as in the areas of education and professional training for the digital world. Given the impact of digital transformation on contemporary life, when describing the Going Digital project, the paper offers an overview of the main discussions currently underway at the OECD, as well as the dynamics of the organization.
