Summary: | Indonesia is one of the countries with various ecosystems, including Production Forests. The Gedong Wani Production Forest is located on the island of Sumatra, specifically in the Lampung Province. This production forest boasts significant biodiversity, including macroscopic fungi. No prior research has been conducted on macroscopic fungi in this forest, prompting researchers to delve further into the matter. This study was conducted in June 2023 with the aim of identifying the species of macroscopic fungi present in the Gedong Wani Production Forest area in South Lampung. The research utilized an explorative qualitative approach that is descriptive-exploratory in nature, where researchers gathered data through field exploration. The collected data included characteristics of fungi based on morphology, descriptions, and classifications. Subsequently, the data were identified using relevant supporting reference sources. The results revealed four genera from four families. These genera are Agrocybe, Marasmiellus, Schizophyllum, and Trametes, categorized into four families: Strophariaceae, Omphalotaceae, Schizophyllaceae, and Polyporaceae. The macroscopic fungi obtained exhibit various potentials, such as being a food source, traditional medicine, and biodegradation.
