Summary:The main purpose of this paper is to make an inventory of archaeological finds staging frogs in a sepulchral context or in a ritual context related to the World of the Dead. The analysis of the archaeological settings may enable us to have a fresh look at the usual interpretations about the presence of the batrachian in Greco-Roman tombs. also, confronting it with the ancient sources allows us to bring new interpretative propositions.
